Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Review

I hope all of you are having a fabulous festive season! I am definitely having alot of fun, which results in me blogging/youtubing so much lesser! Sorry but I promise to have alot more post coming up! :D

Anyway I have been participating in quite a few giveaway done by all you awesome onsugar girlies! (: The very first giveaway I ever won was on Sara's blog. I'm sure all of you are already following her, but if you don't & happen to stumble on my blog then you have to! I really enjoy her blog and chatting with her! (: She is such an amazing girl, so thank you Sara!

So after all the rambling I should totally get to the point of this blog post! I won this clinque lip smoothie from her giveaway and I have been trying this out for awhile! (:

All of us got the same colour in Mango-thon, sucha cute name right? I mean they could have just called it mango but no, it's called mango-thon! haha Honestly the colour does not remind me of mango at all! haha I know the swatch looks really pigmented but it really isn't so pigmented, especially when it is applied to my lips! It is still very gorgeous and is really more neutral on me than the colour you see in the swatch, probably because of the colour of my lips.

Firstly, it comes with a brush applicator ( i should have taken a picture! sorry) so for all of you who dislike the doe-foot applicator, this would be perfect! It kinda reminds me of Stilla's lipglazes, where you twist the bottom to get the product onto the brush! Since you don't get a chance to double dip, it is probably more sanitary.

Clinque advertises it as a lip smoothie which contains vitamin C and antioxidant, which should leave your lips looking and feeling luscious. It does feel nice on the lips, they are not very sticky and it does not dry out your lips at all. Which is great! Since it is not very sticky it does abit of migration on your lips at times. It has micro-shimmers which is not very obvious when you wear but it still adds a certain dimension to your lips, making it look slightly fuller.

It also does not have a scent since clinique is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested, which is amazing for all you girls who have really sensitive skin! It is a gloss so it does not last for hours, I would say maybe about 1-2 hours with eating/drinking.

Swatch on my bare lips, they feel so good! :D It looks super neutral on me yeah? haha Mr Frosty says hi! :D sorry picture was taken after a long day! :p

No way, $3 Blush?

As a beauty junkie/guru/obsessed person (whatever you want to call me) I like everyone get really excited when I chance upon cheap & good deals ;) The next thing that makes me really excited is sharing them with you guys! :D We must never keep all the good stuff for ourselves right? haha!

About a month ago, I was introduced to this brand La Femme prior to that I have never heard of this brand! Being the blush addict I am & having sources telling me La Femme make highly pigmented cheap blushes, I was all over it in no time!The next thing I am going to say is going to make you freak out BUT they only cost USD$3! Yes! I am not even kidding!

I placed my first order, still slightly skeptical on the quality of these blushes. When I received them in th mail, I was dying to rip the box apart & use the blush on my face!!haha. I did rip the box apart & there they were. The long awaited cheap-but-highly-pigmented-blush! They came nicely bubble-wrapped which is always nice. It does not have the prettiest packaging (Think : Benefit) but hey for $3 I think it's really pretty good! I got myself 4 colours, just to try it out and I was taken aback on how pigmented these blushes really are! When I was told these blushes were pigmented I didn't expect them to be this pigmented!

The four colours I got - Red, Golden Sunset, Teracotta and Dusty Rose. (wow, they look similar! :/ )

Honestly I think the one let down of this blushes were that they were not compacted as well as I would like them to be. Just swirling your brush in the product results in quite  bit of fall out, but once you have applied it to your cheeks it stays on! I just want to put it out that I am comparing it with brands like MAC, Nars which cost quite a few more times more than La Femme. However, if you do get irritated with fall outs, this is not a blush for you.

For $3 I definitely think these are worth it! Highly highly pigmented (Think Nars), great colours selection, they look good on the skin (not ashy) and they cost so little! (:

Bella Bamba!

Introducing Bella Bamba! (: The newest addition to benefit's box o' powder blushes! I was super excited when I saw this, haha I was jumping around! :D I love their box blushes, I only have 2 of their box o' powder & I love both of them! I use Hoola so much that I have a huge hole in it! I should show you guys a picture some day! :D Being sucha blush whore, i HAD to get this, I mean it knows my name :p haha I saw the swatches yesterday & was super pleased it would be out in the USA today! Which means I don't have to wait too long & the BEST part of all, benefit provides free shipping for even their international benefit junkies! :D How could I resist?

This apparently is watermelon scented! Yumms! Makes me excited! I love that their blushes are scented, might not be the best for thoses of you out there with very sensitive skin though :(  They changed the packaging slightly! Usually the whole top of the box can be removed but not for bella bamba (see picture below) & it's in 3D! Wooots, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) this might be the first makeup product which has a 3D box? I don't know! haha It is a pretty watermelon flush kind of colour, which I think like all other benefit products, will suit every skin tone! That's what I really love about their products! With an exception of 1 or 2 (Think: Dandelion) which will never show up on my skin. All the other products are extremely flattering for everyone! :D

 

The even more exciting part is that, I JUST PLACED MY ORDER WITH BENEFIT! :D hehe I had to get this! Though I've not seen it in person but the swatches are bad enough, they make me weak! However, due to the holiday season, benefit expected arrival date is 7-28 Jan :(  I hope it doesn't take that long!! & I hope it doesn't go out of stock too!

Random thought! Will this be the 'new' coralista? I know most people love/rave/swear by benefit coralista as the most universal blush, but will bella bamba take that spot now? We will find out, when my package comes! :D Woopie

I know this is probably not even be counted as a legit post, but I really wanted to share with you guys what I bought yesterday! I purchased something else from MAC which I won't be able to feature since it is meant to be a gift (: I went to Kinokuniya and went kinda CRAZY! haha I have been wanting to get magazines for so long but I kept holiding it off! I love going to Kino to browse at all the magazines before getting mine! :)

Was out with gf & her bf, B1. B2. B3 (haha inside joke) we didn't spend super long there but managed to leave with some loots!! 
Yes, that's what I got! :D hehe The Oprah Magazine is for my mum, but I will probably read it too! Some interesting articles like best book of 2010 etc! The rest are mine! haha!I have never bought Allure but it looked good! Lots of beauty snipets!I like!

NARS Crazy Haul!

So about a fews weeks ago I posted a blog post announcing the Seohora Family & Friends sale! Not too sure how many of you caught on it & seized the chance to order some stuff, but I definitely did!:) I ordered some things which I needed & some that, I didn't need :p haha. My friend Wendy helped me to get all my stuff! So thanks Wendy! <3
Let's start out with the things I needed, so I feel slightly less guilty! :p haha. I needed a new serum & I know I did a post where I featured hydraquench, but I also wanted something to brighten my skin! & when I saw this on the site, I knew I had to get it! Clarins + set + sale = I have to get! :D haha that's the Clarins junkie in me talking! It was a really good deal! For the amount I paid I would only be able to get the serum in Singapore, with $10 extra change. For the same price I managed to get the serum (full size), day lotion (full size), night cream(baby size), spf 50 (baby size). Pretty good deal! :) I'm probably gonna use this in the night & use hydraquench in the day! :D If you guys want to see a skincare routine post do let me know! :)

On to things which I didn't really need but wanted. First was my MUFE HD foundation, I have been dying to try this! I hear so many things about it & it retails for like $78 in Singapore (correct me if I'm wrong). So when I knew about the sale I decided this is something which i NEED! I've used it once & I like it :) However if you are the kind which need heavy coverage, or have scars that you want to cover up. This is not going to work as well for you. I'm NC45 in MAC & I use #173, if you were wondering.
Next thing I got which I have been leeming for abit, which is also kinda pricey is the YSL Touche Eclat in #4! I have been thinking of it for awhile but never got around to getting it, so I decided to seize the 20% & get it! :) I've tried it once so abit to preliminary to decide how I feel, will probably do a review if anyone wants to read a review :)
I have been on a NARS kick! Been getting so many things from NARS, they have amazing products! Pity we don't get it in Singapore! :( I got the Follow the boys lipgloss set, because I love baby sized stuff! It comes with Easy Lover, Turkish Delight (super excited to try this!), Moon Fleet & Sweet Revenge. Swatches for these will be up later on, once I've used it! I kinda don't want to use it, they look so cute in the box, but I will!haha!

Blush! how can I skip on that right? :p Nars Blush in Desire! Pretty pretty baby doll pink, it is very sheer but definitely can be build up! :) I feel that NARS blushes are very universal, they make it in a way which suits fairer & darker skin tones! I love that about NARS! Good on you NARS :)

I went abit crazy on NARS lippies! :) I really wanted to try them, I am kinda upset with the colour selection though! Especially since I was unable to swatch them, I based them off a few site & they colours came out so different! They are not as wearable as I wish they were. I got Shrinagar, Manhunt & Niagara. Shrinagar freaked me out!! When I opened it I was stunned, it was purple, on my lips however is more of a berry, purplish, plumish colour! Quite different from the swatch on my hand! Manhunt is just a sheer red colour, not a colour I will wear on a daily basis but it is a nice colour to have! The most wearable one I would say is Niagara it is a coral colour which I am not extremely fond of BUT I think I might start to like it after using it more often. I LOVE the formulation, they are really very moisturizing! I wish I had gotten Honolulu honey! ahh! Next time next time! :)

Operation Blush Out & my ubber cheap blush! :)

I know I've been away for a really long time BUT my current job is running/organizing events which makes me super duper busy! So I'm so sorry for being away. Since I just started working I have heaps to do & I still need to get around my schedule.
I'm so far into my operation blush out, it makes me kinda excited! :D I mean I know I have a gazillion blushes but using them all one by one makes me realise the reason I fell in love with it & bought it! :D I have huge variety of blushes from all brands in this post. I kinda went out of my MAC bubble which you guys always see me using  :p haha I love MAC & NARS alot but I like trying new things!

Day 13 I used Makeup Forever HD Blush #2 in caught in the act. I know it looks very scary in the bottle but you just need the littlest (is there even sucha word?)amount & it gives a pretty pink look, not like how it looks in the bottle! :D On top I used MAC peachtwist, I like mixing colours because I think they look nicer after abit of a mix! :D I can't really wear MAC peachtwist on it's own, it doesn't show up very well on my skintone! It will look really gorgeous on fairer skin though :p

This is the highly highly raved product which one of my friends in the states managed to grab for me! :D Though MAC promotes it as highlight powder but it is really not! It is very corals & pink colour! :D It's so pretty when worn & it is perfect for every skin tone! The seahorse-y used to be gold! but it was just an overspray! I kinda wish the seahorse-y was solid gold colour, that would be perfect!

Day 15! Dior blush in strawberry sorbets!! I love it because it has 2 tone colours, it makes the blush look more natural, since you can customize it to suit you. You can use the darker one to do light contouring & place the light pink on the apples. Looks really pretty!! I used MAC soft & gentle MSF as a highlight, I love having glowy looking cheeks & soft & gentle as the name suggest is so subtle but you can definitely still see it.

Not a common sight right?haha Milani bronze glimmer! You can use it as a contouring + blush + highlight. I ordered this online from drugstore.com! The top colour is like a cream white colour, a mauve colour, orange bronze-y colour, raspberry colour & a darker brown plumish colour! haha that was a mouthfull! :p I just swirled it all together & used it instead of using it colour by colour.

Another non familiar brand for you guys yeah? :) I just tried this blush out I quite like it! I will be doing a review in maybe 1-2 weeks time after I use it abit more! :D  This is a coral colour with micro gold shimmers, it reminds me a teeny tiny bit of orgasm from nars! :D Read the full review when it's out because it is really exciting! The price of the blush makes me even more excited! It's only USD3! haha yeap! Stay tunned for the full review! :D

I love bobbi brown in raspberry, this is gorgeous which can be used on the lips & cheeks! I only used it as a blush & topped it with MAC plum foolery which made it even prettier. I like to use powder blushes on top of cream blushes because cream blushes just stay on till forever! haha I knicked it abit when I was trying to take a photo! haha I'm sucha klutz! haha

Okay last combo of the week! It's day 19!how fast right? I've been in this for 19 days! almost 3 weeks! wow! I will be finishing soon, maybe in a week or so time! :D haha I really enjoyed this but will talk about that more in the last operation blush out post! :D Anyways! I used MAC Vintage Grape Ombre blush (Yeap, another ombre!) & MAC Shell pearl beauty powder, i LOVE this! it's so subtle & unlike MAC MSFs it's shimmer is alot more refined! which is makes it really subtle, this combo is quite interesting since vintage grape is a pinkish-purplelish colour, if not worn properly can look like a bruise! haha!

Weekend Haulage!

Just a quick quick post to show you guys what I hauled over the weekend! :D I spend quite abit this weekend! yikes! :( I might want to do reviews on these products so if you want to see how I feel about any of these just leave me a comment below! :D
I don't think you guys know (yet) I am a hardcore Clarins fan, most of my skincare is from Clarins except for the occasional when I feel slightly adventurous (which is almost like never). I think the only product which I am not using from Clarins at the moment is my eye makeup remover. I am running out of toner so I've had to stock up! :) I used to be using a different one but I decided to try the whitening one! My mum has used it before so I am excited to see how it works with my skin! :D
The second product is the hydra-quench serum which I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE x infinity! haha I have repurchase this like maybe 4-5 times? I don't know! haha but it has been a staple of mine since I lived in Aussie! I think that's a testament of how well it works for me. I tried to use Biotherm hydrating serum but I don't love it as much as I love the Clarins one! :D I don't want to keep rambling about how much I love it but I really really love it! It hydrates my skin & it smells amazing! :D All Clarins products smell amazing since they are all made from plant extract.
Finally the last item is the Biore eye makeup remover! I have never tried this but have read quite a few reviews on onsugar, which made me really curious & since my eye makeup remover is running out I decided to try it! :) I have not used it yet but I might write a review on how well it works! :)

& yesterday the book addict in me decided that I need to start reading a new series! I have a love-hate relationship with series books. I love them because most of the time 1 book doesn't satisfy the craving & I am left wanting more, but series means two things, 1. hard to borrow from the library so I'll end up buying & that means spending money! ahhh but I have been wanting to read this series since like a year ago? Finally caved in & decided to get it :) Will start reading it tomorrow! I'm kinda excited like how a is kid on Christmas day! It was kinda eventful how I almost didn't get this box, but I finally spotted it at the corner of my eye. So yays! :)
Sorry for the reflection, I've not removed the plastic yet! :p hahas.
Okays this is NOT a quick post at all. I tend to be so ramble-y & want to tell you everything that happened! :p haha

When NARS & MAC meets Benefit!

I'm back! :D well I was technically not gone, just busy! :p Though I managed to chun out a review last night, despite the full day of work! :) I really enjoy blogging! Okays enough of the ramble let's cut to the chase! As I mentioned Operation Blush Out is gonna be coming to you in weekly updates!:)

All the blushes have amazing staying power, as always NARS & MAC. The benefit blush did not last as long as the other 2 but it was okay, maybe like 6 hours? NARS & MAC stayed on for probably about 10-12 hours! Yes I get home from work & I still look like I have blush on! :) Of course it doesn't look the same as it did at 7am but you can still see abit of it! :)

NARS Dolce Vita! I've been into the matte blushes phase so this is perfect! I remember the first time I wore this blush I didn't expect it to be so pigmented, I used abit too much & looked funny, had to remove so much of it off my face! haha Anyway like always NARS blushes have a super long staying power! :) Really nice dusty rose colour. I think this suits most if not all skin tones too but if you are fairer (think: NC30 & below) I would say use a stippling brush else it will look too heavy!

NARS Deep throat. Need I say anything more? haha!If you have been around the beauty community on youtube or blogs for long enough you know that saying NARS Deep throat explains it all.LOL! But for those of you who don't know, let me have the honour of enlightening you! :) I once tweeted and asked which NARS blush are amongst your must haves & one of my lovely friends, Roseanne told me I needed to get this. So I did & I never looked back! It is so much prettier than NARS orgasm which is NARS's most popular blush. This gives you a flush which I just can't describe! It looks so natural with really really little micro-shimmer so you can't really see it but it still gives your cheeks some dimension  & best of all ?It is so flattering for every skin tone! The next time you think NARS, don't think orgasm think DEEP THROAT :)

Yes I broke this blush! :( I broke it when I was in aussie filming my first youtube video ever! Which was on my previous channel! So upsetting! I love love love this blush. I even wnted to buy a new one (since it's LE) from one of the online retaliers! I didn't but was super tempted! It's perfect because I LOVE glowy cheeks (which I guess you would already know) this is perfect for the lazy days. It's a blush & highlight all at the same time! :) 1 swipe & you're out the door!haha No fuss at all (unless you have a broken one like mine:/ makinng it abit harder to work with!)

 

AHHH SORRY!I JUST REALISED THAT I PUT THE WRONG DAY! IT'S DAY 11 NOT 12!:( SORRY!

This is the blush which everyone says is a universally flattering colour, I used to agree BUT for some REALLY obscure reason, it didn't really flatter me that much yesterday! :( booo! I think it might be because I was in a hurry or I really don't know but I was kinda sad & I'll have to wait till my operation blush out is over till I try it again! I still love it since it is peach-y + pink-y so really unique but I will have to get back to you on how much I love it now :p I loved it so much I bought it as one of the present for my best friend's 21st!

I dare say  that this blush is one of the few which can fall into the catergory of being my all time favourite blush! :) I'm super super glad I got it especially since it was limited edition from the spring colour forecast collection! *I hope next year's spring collection has some cool stuf like this!* I have 3 blush ombres (HAHA I know I went crazy for them :p) But this hands down is my favourite one. I'm really into peachy colours I like peachy way more than pinky colours!

Okays so I know this post was kinda different & of course the next post will be better, since this is my first post like this it isn't as pretty as I want it to be!Leave a comment & tell me how you like/don't like this format. I kinda think it's nicer because it spices things up abit, instead of seeing a boring picture of a blush. It takes more time but I really enjoy how it looks, but then again if you guys don't like it then I'll change it back to the way it was! :)

The Hardest Eyeliner EVER!

I don't like writing bad reviews, but I think sometimes those are the reviews which help the most. Might not sound like the nicest things to say but it is the truth! So if you are the kind which don't like to read bad reviews then stay tunned for my new post! :D
I really want to love drugstore products & most of the time I do except for the occasional few & this product is one of them! Honestly this product isn't very cheap. It cost S$18.90, I bought it at Watson! I hate products that over claim what they can do & this is the perfect example.

On the packaging you can see the eye which is BEAUTIFULLY lined! :D & on the back it says it has a 24 hour lasting power, nothing will cause it to be removed (yeah they make it sound almost invincible!) Looks like a really nice & sleek pencil liner which says on the pen itself that it is creamy, but I beg to differ! :( I actually expected quite abit since it's a Japanese brand! I tried to line my water line with this & it would not even 'draw' on it, I wanted to use it to tightline but forget it, not gonna work!
The kohl is SO HARD, I have never tried anything which is harder. This can possibly win 'HARDEST kohl eye liner' award. Yes it is that hard! Honestly I think even my pencil is softer than this. Although it says it is creamy it isn't at all! The only thing which they lived up to was that it is quite hard to budge once applied but I don't think I will even wear it on my eyes!

It actually draws quite a nice fine line, which is nice but you have to tugg your eye lids quite abit to draw a nice line, which i hate!
I honestly would say that this is not worth your  money at all, unless you like hard eyeliners :p hahas. Now I really don't know what to do with  it, what do you do with something that is so hard?! hahas
Okay phew, bad review done! I don't enjoy talking down a product but I was really not impressed at all! Stay tunned for my operation blush out, this week I used quite a few blushes which I have alot to comment on! :p haha that should be up tomorrow or Saturday! :)

Super duper quick update!

Hello my loves! :)

Secondly, if you follow me on twitter you would already know, i've got  new job! Which explains why I am gonna be a tad more busy now! but fret not I will not be disappearing from this space! I love this place wayy too much! :) & i'm still on operation blush out! :D hehe Wore a really gorgeous blush today & as mentioned I will be doing it weekly! Hope that's okay! :)

Just a quick update, I like my job it's events related which is fun but really tiring! :) Not gonna spill where it is just for personal reasons! :D The train ride down today was INSANE! :/ work was tedious and i have to be EXTRA meticulous since it also involves money. I'm bloated from dinner (this is sucha random blogpost) I hope you guys don't mind! :p hahas

Operation Blush Out Day 7 + 2011 is here?!

So I have been kinda MIA-ing! Been kinda busy & really tired! :( booo! Anyway operation blush out has hit 1 week! :) Oh by the way, I will be really busy from next week onwards! So I might post operation blush out by the week & not day! So I'll compile them all & post it, hope that's okay! :) Meanwhile I'll be thinking of new stuff to blog about! :) 

Mac's Briar rose! gorgeous gorgeous colour! Very cool tone I really love it! :D It's a beauty powder blush but it's really pigmented! :D

Yesterday's picture is outdoors! Yippie! :) A nice change right? :D I wore Mac's luster drops in gold rush (which I forgot to take a photo of) on the top! :D

So glowy so pretty! :) So I went out to run a few errands (including buying a tripod for my youtube videos! so yay!) I filmed a few videos today BUT the background noise is terrible! :( Urgh! Gotta re film! :/ Maybe later!

Anyway after getting the tripod, I went to meet gf in town after her exam! :) Had lunch, walked around window shopping (because we just spend a BOMB online :p ). I bought something! An essential! A 2011 diary from my favourite stationary shop EVER! I'm so super glad they came to Singapore because i LOVE that shop when I was in Aussie! So now I can get my Kikki.K fix here! :)

 

hehe! I'm excited to use this for 2011! :D My 2010 Kikki.K diary looks kinda worn out (I mean I've used it for a year!) haha If you haven't got or you are looking for a diary for 2011, def check out Kikki K in Ion! :D I'm sure you will be able to find something you like from their collection! :)

Operation Blush Out Day 5 + 6!

Hey everyone! :) I know I know, I have been missing in action & I'm terribly sorry for that! been really worn out! :( Doing quite abit of spring cleaning in the house & I wanted to post this last night BUT I was too caught up with online shopping with my girlfriend! :p But I'm here now! :D Gonna place an order for Sephora which I'm super duper excited! :DDD Anyway Operation Blush Out have been going fine! :)

So Day 5 I wore MAC's Ambering roses, I LOVE IT! :) like a rusty dusty pink! pretty! :) My girlfriend loves it too! But we can't find it in Singapore?  Kinda odd! :p Oh wells!

Day 6! :) Mac Mineralised Blush in Bi-tone, i believe this was limited edition, correct me if I'm wrong! :p Love this colour, gives me a pretty glow!

No pictures of me this time! :( However I wore bi-tone when i filmed my pretty in pink tag video! So check out my video! :) & if you really want to see swatch leave a comment & I promise to get around to swatching! :p

Like what Fatin from lipstickbandit said, I am so tempted to go back to my most used blushes! :p control eliza control!

Operation Blush Out Day 4!

Day 4 day 4 day 4! :D I used 2 blushes today! :) I really like wearing cream blushes with powder blushes! :)
Cream blushes are excellent in Singapore! :) Humid weather = perfect, stays on all day! :)
Inglot blush in 82, haha yupp it has no name! :p just a number! I think inglot can only be bought in Australia? haha not too sure but I know it's an Australian brand! :D ahhh I love inglot I wish I got more stuff & it's really not that expensive & super pigmented!! I think this was like 25AUD? If you ever pop by Aussie make sure you check it out! :) They have impressive lip conditioners too! :D

Mac's Spaced Out from the neo sci fi, it was limited edition & I bought it off one of my friends who had it as a back up! :D Love it! It's like a peachy colour with a hint of bronze! Pretty!

Didn't have time to snap a picture today! :/ sorry! :( WIll try to have pictures of how it looks on my face as much as possible! :)
